“Tranquility isn’t exactly a concept that mortals are accustom to. Actually, it is a rarity to encounter anything, or anyone that hasn’t been involved in an aggressive or depressive state of mind. Things like prosperity, loyalty, and honor don’t co-exist with the norms of our generation. So let’s face it; our world isn’t exactly a beautiful paradise. On the contrary, it does have its perks. However, the ugly side isn’t exactly something we can cast aside so eagerly. These reminders, memories, and calculating thoughts, they’re all unavoidable. For in this ugly world, the miserable seek out acceptance, and they’re willing to go to any length to achieve it. Even if that means subjecting someone to the same agonizing pain they suffered from. Thus, the endless cycle continues to spiral out of control, and rapidly it accelerates into utter chaos that amuses those who are wicked. How pathetic. This inevitable ecstasy of nonsense is a pledge on our society. Then again, my opinion is considered bias. After all, I only observe those negative feats that we humans turn a blind eye to. What am I referring to? Isn’t obvious? Let me reveal it through a subtle hint, no, a riddle. What intrigue our fragile little minds, but leave us quivering like frighten children? It goes ‘bump’ in the night. What, still no takers?” Pausing momentarily, Maria released a drawn out sigh from her pink, elegant, quivering lips. “Hmm…” Solemnly she lifted her restless right hand from the caressed fabric that she had been groping during this entire one-sided conversation. “I am astonished, yet so disappointed. The topic of which I speak of involves the monstrosity that we humans have created. How ignorant are you?” She paused momentarily once more, allowing an annoyed growl to press through her greeting teeth this time. “It’s so amusing. You created that of which I speak of, yet you can’t even make a response, a guess to what I am implying. Ta, have you forgotten your son so hastily?”
The woman handcuffed to the bed shifted her murderous gaze towards Maria. It was obvious that this woman understood the unfortunate circumstances she had fallen pray to. To sum it up, Karma was the key to her agony, this melodramatic scenery of annoyance was created from her sinful intentions. “…I can’t even comprehend your annoying blunder… All you’re doing is talking nonsense!”
Suddenly Maria began chuckling, finding this very amusing. “You truly are a foolish woman, absolutely foolish.” She began shaking her index finger back and forth, as a wicked smirk crept across her lips. “It is that denial that annoys me the most.” The smirk started fading away. “And it is that denial that I shall take pleasure in when I cast you into oblivion. I shall make you suffer immensely for the sins you’ve committed.” She threatened.
The woman retorted angrily, “I am not in denial you psychotic B*tch! What you are doing is illegal! It’s against the law to kidnap someone and hold them prisoner. At least kidnapping someone who is considered royalty! Now if you want to avoid having a bounty on your head, I advise you to release me from these blasted handcuffs. Hah, of course it solely depends on you. You’re so eccentric, I’m sure you’d take pleasure to the thought of spending the rest of your worthless existence in a confined cell. I bet that excites your twisted little mind.”
Maria made no response to the woman; instead she shifted her attention towards the blast of wind that pressed unwarned outside this dismal room. From there, an eruption of sound began vibrating throughout the corridors of this fine establishment. Soon, the entire room trembled from the dramatic decline of temperature, which caused the cuffed woman to shiver uncontrollably. “It’s kind of chilly in here… You could at least toss me a blanket or something…”
Maria mumbled lowly, “I show no sympathy towards those who murder innocent people. If it is cold, then let you freeze to death…” An adrenalin boast coursed through Maria’s body, causing her heartbeat to accelerate at rapid speeds. Slowly, she shifted her sights towards the entrance of apartment 340B. On the other side lingered a restless soul filled with hatred and vengeance. It was clear that this dreadful, eerie creature was engulfed by darkness.
“I advise you to stop your denial rant, or else he won’t show any mercy towards you.” Maria glanced down toward the digital watch that read 8 o’clock. “Hah, he isn’t late to his reunion. It’s the same time that you viciously murdered your fourteen year old son. It was with that dull kitchen knife correct?” The woman’s eyes widened, as she attempted to shake loose from the cuffs. “It’s useless. You can’t escape your fate. It’s exactly like the say goes. ‘An eye for an eye.’ You won’t be able to escape Karma. This will be your judgment.” Maria turned away from the woman. “But our little game has finally drawn to its end. The murderous intent I sense beckons me to leave before things become messy. So, out of respect for the dearly departed I shall leave you here for the undeniable, the ruthless, yet caning demise that you so deserve. Oh, parting is such sweat sorrow.” Maria muttered sarcastically. “And with that, I am gone.” Maria walked past the woman who pleaded with her. Without another word she walked casually out of the broken down apartment room and past the fourteen year old boy that stood in her path. As the door began to shut, the young man had already entered the room. His attire was covered in blood, and he reeked of death. This was the one that spoke to her, but it was inevitable that that woman would die here and now. As Maria continued walking, the sounds of horrified screams began ringing through her ears. Maria temporarily closed her eyes, blocking out the noise as much as possible. However, in acknowledgement of the woman’s demise Maria's wings began twitching frantically, causing her a bitter annoyance.
The sweet scent of blood began intoxicating the surrounding area, causing a flock of crows to fly in circular motion above the apartment complex. During this time Maria remained aimlessly staring up towards the endless sky, pondering away at useless ideals regarding a better existence, a better life. “Dearest friend…” She murmured, and then chuckled softly. “We’re alike, aren’t we? Hmm, what an uncontrollable nostalgically feeling you monstrosities give me. I wonder though, do I enlighten you in the same manner? Call it wishful thinking, but I hope I give you that same untimely feeling you’ve always graced me with.” Maria momentarily remained silent, as her right hand extended downward towards the hilt of her Katana. “Vengeance…it is such an underestimated emotion. It can be frightening I admit, but it is that quality that makes us similar. ” Maria started tapping her index finger along the hilt, causing a soft rhythmic notion of sound to echo off. “…Today, after that annoying ordeal you remain as silent as ever.” She caressed the hilt of her katana abruptly, and then began slowly unsheathing it. “Yet, I can still imagine the foulness of your chaotic voice echoing through the confines of my distorted mind, ticking away at my sanity, as I continue to waste away under the fate you’ve bestowed upon me.” Slowly, she titled her head in acknowledgment when the flock of crows soared downward into the apartment room where she had left the woman earlier. The sound of the crow’s vicious little tongues squawking away made Maria smirk wickedly. “The circle of life, how quaint,” She muttered sarcastically, and within seconds Maria had sheathed her weapon, and started walking off through the over populated city.
Within a period of ten minutes Maria returned to the apartment complex, noticing the crowd that had gathered. What exactly could a fragile, yet attractive young woman do in a city so large? Leaving wasn’t exactly an option for the young lady, since the day wasn’t exactly young. Not to mention, the idea of wandering aimlessly through a forest filled with vengeful, greedy, and most of all deceiving little creatures didn’t thrill Maria. Yes, there presence would provide company, and they'd probably be capable of relieving the boredom she was currently suffering from. However, the thought of hearing these creatures blabber on about what they desperately needed wasn’t something she considered an interesting intellectual conversation, nor was it a fun activity. Also, she had over exerted herself, and depleted majority of her energy during the previous assignment. Thus, causing Maria to actually think logical for once and come up with a sensible decision. “It would be best advised to avoid further contact with the dead, at least for tonight. I’ll check into one of the rooms, but before I do that I would like to make a quick little entry.” Maria shifted her gaze towards the nearby water fountain and then back towards the crowd. “Such perfect scenery for my manifesto,”she muttered delightfully. Slowly, Maria approached the fountain, sat down along side it, brought out the small little crimson notebook hidden inside one of the pockets of her black, velvet, hooded cloak she was currently wearing, and then finally she began writing.
“Dear little red dairy…
I find writing to you a redundancy that I deeply regret. It’s not like I have anything else to report besides my casual killing sprees that you’ve become accustomed to hearing. Ah, such an invigorating feeling it releases throughout my entire being. It is as if a wave of ecstasy is constantly coursing through my veins and fueling my body with adrenalin. Hmm, see what I mean? How redundant, it’s utterly disappointing. Haven’t I already described that incredible rush in my previous entries? This journal is beyond pathetic. Perhaps I should’ve integrated more informative subjects into the confines of my miniscule little brain before I chose to write a diary. At least I would have something interesting to write about on a constant basis. However, there has been a particular thought that has left me pondering on countless occasions. It’s a rhetorical question that I’ve been distinguishingly amusing my collective thoughts with. However, I’ll leave that to the imaginative mind that stumbles upon this entry one day. What ever could I be referring too? Will you learn of it as the story progresses? All will be revealed in due time friend.”
